Quick answers
FAQ
Common questions about the game, token, play modes, and community.
What is $HOCAI?
$HOCAI is the utility and governance token for in-game transactions, rewards, staking plans, and voting on future game development.
Can I play now?
Yes. Click Play, then choose ranked matchmaking or the sandbox beta from a desktop browser.
Is the game open source?
The client and shared game logic live in public GitHub repositories. The project is built with community visibility in mind.
What happened to the treasury page?
The treasury section is intentionally not part of this minimal site. This site focuses on the game, token basics, community, and legal pages.
Do I need a crypto wallet?
No. The game is free, and you can sign in with email and password or with Google. A wallet is optional: link one to claim season prizes (it must be the only wallet on your account and never linked to another account) or to use token features. A wallet with at least 90 days of on-chain history also raises your reputation.
How do I link or unlink a wallet?
Press Connect Wallet on the game's sign-in screen to sign in with a wallet — you only sign a message, no transaction is sent. Already signed in? Press Connect Wallet in the account panel on the right of the game screen to add a wallet to your account. The same panel adds email, password or Google sign-in, and has an Unlink button next to Google and each linked wallet. Unlinking is refused while it would leave the account with no way to sign in, so a wallet-only account has to add another wallet, a password or Google sign-in before it can drop its wallet.
How do I contact the team?
Use the official channels on the Contact page: Discord, Telegram, X (Twitter) or email support@heroesofcrypto.io. The game's code is public on GitHub.
How does the AI choose artifacts?
The AI chooses from its legal offers using its drafted army and the public information available at that stage. Quiver of Echoes considers shooters' damage, native double attacks and ammunition. In combat, the AI values extra shots only when ammunition remains after the native attacks. Dense Flesh's cost comes from the primary target; nearby splash victims do not increase it. Quiver, Gravechain and Rime also use each creature's starting faction luck and the army's own applicable artifact bonus; position-dependent luck auras are not assumed before deployment. Arcane rings favor damaging spells, Chain Lightning, Fire Breath and Fire Shield. Support spells do not make a creature's ordinary melee attack magical. Aegis of the Arcane considers how much enemy magic has been revealed without assuming every hidden enemy is a caster. Gravechain's slowing effect is weighed against the owner's lost movement. In combat, the AI can compare a lower-damage physical attack that could slow a wider cluster, using the battle engine to judge the follow-up turns. Immune and already Gravebound stacks can relay the chain but do not count as newly slowed targets. Last Fuse rewards finishing enemy stacks beside other enemies. Its explosion uses 25% of actual fatal damage, with a minimum of 25 per power of the attacker, captured at the killing hit. The defeated target's own power does not set the floor. Drafting weighs reliable finishers and revealed enemy roles without assuming future clustering. In combat, the AI prices supported melee, ranged and spell executions against nearby enemies; Water Shield and resurrection are included. Complex attacks and chained deaths stay with the battle-engine search, which preserves the original killer's power through the chain. Your own units are safe from your Last Fuse. Enemy Last Fuse threatens your nearby stacks when an enemy finishes one of your stacks. The final creature pick also considers the selected Tier-2 artifact. Tome of Amplification and Rime Charm are drafted as Tier 1; Tome is valued for castable buffs rather than healing or resurrection.
