Terms of Service

1. Who can play

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Services.

You are responsible for following any laws that apply to you when you play.

2. Your account

You can try sandbox mode without an account. Ranked play and some other features need a free account created with a username, an email address, and a password.

Keep your login details private and accurate. You are responsible for everything that happens through your account, so do not share it or use anyone else's.

Email support@heroesofcrypto.io if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.

3. Your licence to play

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and play the game for your own non-commercial entertainment.

You may not sell, rent, or commercialise access to the Services, or use them to build a competing product, except as expressly allowed by the open-source licences referenced below.

4. The game is free to play

The Services are free. You do not need to download software or connect a crypto wallet to play, and we do not sell gameplay advantages.

Any in-game items, ranks, ratings, or currencies exist only inside the game, have no real-world or monetary value, and are not your property.

5. Beta and changes to the game

Heroes of Crypto is under active development and is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. Features, unit rosters, balance, maps, ratings, ladders, and other content can change, be reset, or be removed at any time, with or without notice.

We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that your progress, ratings, or statistics will be preserved.

6. Fair play and conduct

So that matches stay fair, you agree not to use cheats, bots, scripts, or other automation; exploit bugs or unintended mechanics; tamper with the game client or its network traffic; or manipulate matchmaking, ratings, or results (including collusion, account sharing, smurfing, or intentionally losing).

You also agree not to harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other players or staff, and not to choose a username or submit text that is offensive, infringing, or misleading.

We may remove content, reset ratings, and suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these rules.

7. Intellectual property and open source

The game's name, logos, art, characters, audio, and other assets are owned by OSG or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.

Parts of the project are open source and published under the licences stated in our public repositories; your use of that code is governed by those licences. If you contribute code or content, you grant OSG a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, modify, and distribute your contribution as part of the Services.

8. Tokens and digital assets

Playing Heroes of Crypto never requires buying, holding, or using any cryptocurrency. If the project separately offers the $HOCAI token or other digital assets, that is optional and independent of gameplay.

Digital assets carry risks, including price volatility, loss of access, and changing regulation. Transactions may be irreversible, OSG does not guarantee any value, and nothing here is financial advice. Only take part if it is lawful where you live and you understand the risks.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OSG will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, ratings, or progress, arising from your use of the Services.

You agree to indemnify and hold OSG harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Services or your breach of these Terms.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or act in a way that harms the Services or other players.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the 'Last Updated' date, and significant changes may be announced in-game or on our channels. If you keep using the Services after an update takes effect, you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved through arbitration in Seattle, Washington, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
